Happy President’s Day weekend!   Having spent years combing through all these guys’ documents, I kinda feel like I know em –in a weird way.  It’s always pretty cool to see them all together.  Would have loved to be a fly on the wall at some of these meet ups.

In In January 2009, President W. Bush called President elect Obama in for lunch with the ex-presidents Carter, H.W. Bush, and Clinton.  You might remember quite a bit of hullabaloo was made over the fact that Presidents Clinton and Carter were not standing “close enough” to each other.  Dick Cheney commented, “I’d love to [have been] there, but the vice presidents weren’t invited.”

The opening sequence of Reservoir Dogs?  No.  Ex-presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter at the opening of the Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Vally, California.  With typical understatement, President H.W. Bush predicted, “I think it’s going to be a very nice event.”  Of course, the Reagan Library’s most awesome document is the 10,000 Jellybean portrait of Ronald Reagan.

This one was trickier to find.  President Kennedy, Vice President Johnson, and Ex-presidents Eisenhower and Truman attended Representative Sam Rayburn’s funeral in November 1961.  Rayburn worked with each of the men during his seventeen years as Speaker of the House.

And of course, there’s Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves’s rendition of the Ex-Presidents in Point Break.

And then there’s SNL’s awesome cartoon, the X Presidents.

And that’s not to mention Dead Prez.
