"Kailek village razed near Darfur, Sudan"

Check out the Nation Security Archive’s Electronic Briefing Book, Fighting for Darfur, which shows that U.S. opposition to the International Criminal Court in 2004-2005 held up peacekeeping and slowed justice for genocide perpetrators. The US Ambassador to the UN predicted in 2004 that the process would lead to a “train wreck.”

The EBB also presents a series of Department of State documents, as well as images National Geospatial Intelligence Agency depicting before and after images of the of razed villages in Darfur.

It’s an infuriating read. Also check out Bec Hamilton’s website, fightingfordarfur.com
